"Well Laura dear, it is not as bad as we feared, just a few window frames and railings to repair, a good clean and it will be just fine for the little ones"... After years of standing empty and falling into disrepair, Laura and Ashley Maces have decided to turn the old family windmill into a much-needed orphanage for Primrose Glade. Eleanor Bramble has contacted another old University friend, Karen Hazelwood, to run the orphanage. She has recently been helping her sister Betty and brother-in-law Basil who run an orphanage in Sugarbush Valley, and jumped at the chance to help the little ones of Primrose Glade. It doesn't take long for everyone to help out and get the place ready for the children to move in; and Laura and Ashley visit for a tour around. They find Karen up on the roof, hanging out the laundry which she explains dries in no time up there in the wind! In the kitchen they meet Ingrid and Yvette Blackberry who always like to help get tea ready.... ....and upstairs their baby brother Elliot plays with little Jack Appleblossom. Twins Micheal and Hannah Kennelworth love to play dress-up in the playroom... They also pop in on Hollie Wildwood and Andromeda Petite, busy with their homework.... Somewhat nervously, Karen asks "So what do you think Mr and Mrs Maces?" "We couldn't be happier," replies Laura, "You are doing a wonderful job, thank you for bringing this old place back to life"
