28/2/2019 2 Comments Butterdale FarmAngus and Bessie Buttercup, along with best friends Wesley and Dove Dale, built this farmhouse when they established Butterdale Farm many years ago. It was at a time before Primrose Glade village even existed and in the early days the farm was small, just feeding themselves and then their young families. But as the village grew so did the farm and now they have a thriving business supplying the villagers. Luckily there are lots of pair of hands to help out. Bessie and Angus have two sons, the eldest Hornbull is married to Daisy and they have four children Annabell, Paddock and baby twins Dolly and Fennel. Their other son Penleigh and his wife Daisy have one little boy called Cheddar. Dove and Wesley have four children, Ewan, Moss, Rebecca and Wendy. Sadly Ewan and his family live on the other side of Sylvania, his wife Barbara's parents need their help on the family farm. Everyone misses them and their children, Winton and Iona, very much. Their other son Moss and his wife Dolly (who was thrilled to have the littlest Buttercup calf named after her!) have a little girl, Emma. Rebecca is married to Dominic Dingle and they also have a little girl called Katherina. Wendy, the youngest, has recently returned from agricultural college and has lots of ideas for improvements around the farm. Here they all are, gathered at the front of the house... When their children grew up and had children of their own, they built a couple of cottages beyond the orchards and now the grandparents have the place nearly to themselves, apart from Rebecca, Dominic and Katherina who share the attic room. Let's take a look around and see how they spend their time now they are (officially at least!) retired from farm work... Right at the top is a pretty attic room, currently belonging to Rebecca, Dominic and baby Katherina. They love the views over the orchards and fields, and Katherina loves going down to snuggle in her grandparents' bed early in the morning!
This is the cosy sitting room where Angus and Wesley have drawn their armchairs close to the fire to enjoy a game of chequers... They always were competitive, even back when they were at school together! And here is the farmhouse kitchen - Dove can usually be found here baking. This is one of her famous apple pies, she also supplies The Blackcurrant Café with a special apple and blackcurrant version But of course the best thing about being grandparents is spending time with their with their grandchildren and this is what Bessie, Angus, Dove and Wesley love to do more than anything...
