But first there is enough time for a catch up with her dear friend Agatha Buckley... "I love what you have done with this room El" "Thank you Agatha, but I can't take any of the credit. I was despairing of ever getting it finished, then I was lucky enough to have the help of that wonderful designer Bloem. Have you heard of her?" "Yes of course! How wonderful, everything fits so perfectly" "I know." smiled Eleanor, passing Agatha a delicious-looking cake. "I'll just check if the boys need any help with their homework and then I will tell you about Mr Timbertop before he arrives..." After finding Maxwell and Freddie were working hard on their Geography project Eleanor explained how poor Taylor Timbertop, one of the best builders in Sylvania, had sadly lost his wife last year. With two small children to care for he had not worked since, but needing the money he had been persuaded to take on a very special project for Primrose Glade. Cedric Walnut was meeting them off the Woodland Bus and bringing them to Primrose Lodge to discuss the plans... "Do come in Mr Timbertop, I'm so pleased to meet you at last" greeted Eleanor. "And you little ones must be Daisy and Burl... please go up and see Abigail, she is looking forward to playing with you" Then it was down to business... "So your village needs a new school..." began Taylor
"Indeed it does!" enthused Headteacher Agatha "We have had so many new families move to Primrose Glade that our old building is simply too small. Stanley and Petunia Fletcher run many of our classes outside but we really do need more facilities" Taylor showed them the plans he had drawn up "I wasn't sure if you would need a kitchen added...?" he enquired. "Actually no," replied Cedric "Our school cooks, Delia and Gordon Doughty, have that in hand." "But we are planning to employ a school nurse to take care of the children's well-being, and we would like a large sports field" Eleanor added. Discussions continued, until only one decision remained... "Where exactly are we going to locate this wonderful new building?" asked Agatha. Taylor considered the area map. "In my opinion this grove of berry bushes would be the best site. The brambles and shrubs will take less clearing than more wooded areas." "Ideal!" said Eleanor "Also, it is on the Neptune Cove side of the village so more accessible to those families, and near to the orphanage which will make life easier for Betty Hazelwood!" "We could call it Berry Grove School!" exclaimed Agatha, "Oh, I'm so excited"
