Christopher Apple-Blossom's heart sank when he saw the covering of snow which had fallen in the night. His Watermill Bakery has not been open long and although business has been good, the Bakery is deep in Primrose Woods and a long walk from the village. What if no-one can get here today? He was mightily relieved to see his usual delivery of eggs and milk was waiting on the doorstep. Nothing stops those folks from Butterdale Farm! But oh no! The waterwheel was frozen, luckily Christopher poured some hot water onto the gears and it started turning again... Christopher went about his usual morning routine and baked a full selection of breads and cakes, but all the while he worried whether he would have any customers... Of course Christopher's first customers were always Jane and Justina. Justina told her father that as it was a snow day and she wouldn't be going to school she was instead practicing hard for her ballet exam. "That must be hungry work!" laughed Christopher Afterwards Christopher gazed anxiously out of the window in the direction of Primrose Glade. Was that a red bicycle he could spot in the distance? Sure enough, it was Penny Farthing and two of her children, Wren and little Rally. "We weren't going to let the snow make us miss out on fresh bread and honey for breakfast! And don't worry, we passed plenty of other hungry customers on the path. Your bakery is going to be a popular choice for a snow day breakfast!
